Chuck enlisted in the Navy in 1990 just as Iraq was invading Kuwait. Initially he was a Signals Intelligence Operator and was an E-5 when he earned his commission at Officer Candidate School as a Surface Warfare Officer. After three deployments and back-to-back sea tours he converted to the Supply Corps – the business managers of the Navy. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree (dual major: Economics and Finance) from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and a Masters of Business Administration (Supply Chain Management) from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He additionally completed the Naval War College (Command and Staff) as well as the Joint Forces Staff College Joint and Combined Warfighting School. The highlight of Chuck’s career was his final seven years deploying and supporting Special Operations retiring as a Navy Commander.
Chuck has spent in excess of 15 years overseas, at sea and deployed, and has visited approximately 40 countries. He now enjoys not traveling out of the United States, spending time with his wife and children and chearing for them at their many sporting events. While he freely admits he will sorely miss the military adventure and life on the high-seas, he has promised himself that he will be back at sea soon on a boat of his own.
